Meet Martha Theran - MS, RD/RDN

Martha was born in Medellin, Colombia where she lived until the age of 14. Growing up with a beautiful, active, and healthy mother, Martha developed a fascination for health and fitness. She moved to Florida in the early 90’s, and in those teenage years she grew more infatuated with the human body and how it works. Her infatuation soon turned into an active pursuit after giving birth to her first child. During labor, she was told there was a chance that, either she or the baby, were not going to make it due to a severe case of anemia.

Martha, having no background in nutrition, began her journey into investigating the cross-link between food and its effects on the human body. As a result, she strongly believes in the power of food and its ability to optimize health, prevent disease and maximize the way you look, feel, and perform. She has a passion for nutrition and achieving wellness, and cannot imagine doing anything else for a living.

Functional Nutrition

Functional nutrition focuses on the patient’s body as a whole system instead of the disease. It is a personalized method whose primary goal is to identify the root cause of your health issues,  such as gastrointestinal distress, energy levels, joint pain, and mental health.

Functional nutrition seeks to maximize an individual’s consumption of nutrient-dense foods to address food-related underlying causes of health issues. It uses whole foods to restore any nutritional imbalances the body may be experiencing. “Food is the problem; Food is also the Solution.” Our eating habits or diets may be responsible for various health issues.

SPORTS NUTRITION

Sports nutrition is used primarily for the lifestyle of an athlete and can assist in reaching peak performance. Nutrition plans are used to improve athletic performance, as well as, enhance recovery. The body needs nutrients to repair and build muscle and even to maintain that which it already has.

I aim to help ALL TYPES of athletes power up and fuel for OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE!

I work with individuals to deliver evidence-based, customized nutrition recommendations designed to optimize performance and recovery, reduce injury risk, and achieve body composition and wellness goals.

I’m not too fond of diet culture and the spread of misinformation about nutrition. I aim to debunk nutrition myths by offering reliable and easily understandable information tailored to your performance requirements. I strive to create straightforward educational content that makes credible nutrition knowledge accessible and easy to “DIGEST.”
